New owner to re-open abattoir

Hillside Abattoir in Narrogin could be open for business in six weeks, giving WA sheep producers another marketing option.
Jordanian company Hijazi and Ghosheh Group (HGG), owner of Perth-based live exporter Livestock Shipping Services (LSS), has signed a contract to buy the abattoir and is waiting for settlement.

LSS makes an offer on Hillside Abattoirs

LIVE export company, Live Shipping Services (LSS) looks as though it will be the new owner of the Hillside Meats abattoir at Narrogin.
Hillside abattoir has been for sale since it went into voluntary administration on November 13.
Administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and partner Derick Vickers confirmed negotiations were underway with LSS in a statement earlier this week.

WA Q Lamb is Awarded a GOLD Medal for their MSA Graded Cap-On Frenched Lamb Racks at the 2008 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show!

A pair of "cap-on" Frenched racks of WA Q Lamb gained one of only two gold medals awarded in the Branded Lamb (MSA Sheepmeats) competition held in September.

This will allow Q Lamb to place a Sydney Royal gold sticker on its "cap-on" Frenched racks. All Q Lamb already carries the "Buy West, Eat Best" logo.

Judging was based on the texture and visual appearance of the uncooked rack and then on the aroma, tenderness, juiciness, flavour and overall liking of the cooked lamb.
